Faced with the suffering of vulnerable refugees such as women, teenage mothers, street children, youth, widows, the elderly, people living with albinism, people with disabilities in all forms of disabilities including and chronically ill (HIV/AIDS) who are in most cases rejected, stigmatized and marginalized. While refugees in Nakivale camp and all refugee camps in Uganda face a fierce and difficult battle to assert their rights as defined in the United Nations Convention and other international instruments on the protection of refugee women and vulnerable groups, there is also the endemic state of waterborne diseases and dirty hands due in part to the lack of toilets and the absence of a sanitation policy in schools and public places. This is how LAC Uganda has made it its hobby horse to alleviate the suffering and permanent death that awaits refugees.

Our Mission
LAC Uganda’s mission is to listen, provide guidance, medical, legal and judicial assistance to refugees, vulnerable asylum seekers, those living with disabilities, albinism, chronic illnesses, marginalized people and in the water, hygiene and sanitation sector.
